Why do earth signs take such a long time to make decisions?

I am a gemini and am CONTINUALLY frustrated with the slowness of earth signs (Capricorn, Virgo, Taurus) when it comes to making really simple decisions. I can make a decision in a flash and it is always rationally thought through and emotion free - you lot seem to take FOREVER to come to the same conclusion and mostly even end up making poor decisions - why is that?

See, in the astrological process, Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) are the most slow when it comes to most things. This is a big strength for them because they know life shouldn't be rushed. You are an Air sign: quick witted, sociable, sometimes thought of as an intellectual and loves solving things, so you are going to get bored easily. I mean, look at the Earth symbols: The Bull, The Virgin and The Goat. Are those not symbols of slow process to greater achievements? Earth signs are also the most honest out of the four elements in the zodiac. Like my book said, "Thus like the tortoise who beat the hare, Earth signs may wind up crossing the finishing line first."

You are a very observant person, but not all earth signs are slow.  They do have a tendiency to let their feelings get in the way of their decision making process so that could be what slows them down.  Then again you Write very well so I would tend to think that you may be of very high intelligence making everyone around you seem a little slow.

There are three earth signs: Virgo Capricorn and Taurus.  All three are different.  Only two of them take a lot of time in making their decisions: Taurus and Cap.

Virgo, on the other hand, is ruled by Mercury, which is the planet of intellect.  Because Mercury is a fast moving analytical and intellectual planet, Virgo is a fast decision making sign.  Virgos are able to analyze all facets and make a decision on the spot.  It's an asset in many places.

Not only this, but Virgos usually walk fast, talk fast, think fast, and act fast; and that's a fact.

Geminis drive us crazy too! :P  You guys don't seem to think at all before you speak.  I bet you regret some things after you've said them.  I wish I could act as quickly without all the planning but I just can't.  

Earth signs' brains don't work as fast as Geminis'.  It's like the tortoise and the hair.  We are faced with a problem.. we need to go, hmmmmmmmmm.....  (breathe..)  now how would be the best way to solve this??  hmm..  if i did this, what if that happened?  hmm.. no bad idea..  if i did this.. maybe this might happen..  whoa!  hmm....  I need some peace and quite to think about this....

Things need to be planned, co-ordinated, written down, fool proof before an earth sign is satisfied.

It takes a long time but for us to be happy, we have to feel like we put enough time into it to feel confident that it's done right the first time.  We're scared to make mistakes.  If we do something important half-a$$ed, we'll worry about it all night (virgo will anyway) cause maybe we missed or forgot something.  We like things to be slow, quiet and under control.
