Why do ebay limit some items from selling internationally?

  1. DVDs and VHS movies because of region encoding.  Smart move there.  No one in the US wants to buy a Region 2 DVD.

    Designer goods, because half of them are fake.  They will let you sell designer goods internationally if you're PayPal verified.  I think that's because getting verified means you have a bank account on file at PayPal which would be a way for law enforcement to track you if you're selling counterfeit Chinese c**p.

    I think that's about it.  There are some weird things like how eBay Australia lets you list wine, but only selling to others in Australia.  But that's not something you see very often.
