Why do elderly people shave their hare bald?

need information for a project i want to know why elderly peolple shave thier hair bald

Usually b/c they start to get a receding hair line (bald on top and hair around the bottom) so they just say heck with it, instead of looking ridiculous I'll shave it all off...smart move, I hate when half bald guys style the remaining hair, just shave it off.

Seriously... It probably looks better on most people to just be bald rather then be balding, and having some horrid combover... Easier to maintain too.

Go to a retirement community and actually TALK to some older people.

I don't think a lot of them do.  They have lost their hair due to old age.
