  1. Because plastic doesn't conduct heat (heat up) and metal does.

    Just think what it would be like if you were holding the part that was causing whatever it is you're doing to be straight. That's what it would be like if it were not plastic.

  2. It's probably a silicone rubber handle. It doesn't conduct heat well, and it doesn't melt. They're making baking sheets and cupcake pans out of the stuff!

  3. Never Used One On Da Links I Gotta Say.

  4. to keep you from burning yourself.DUH.

  5. You asked this question on Golf, Physics and Other -  Science. Try SEARS.

  6. I've never played electric irons, didn't know that they were USGA approved. I'd think that rubber or leather grips would be better.

    I would like to see an electric putter, that would be cool.

  7. Real men enjoy pain.

    Only sooks hold the iron by the plastic handle. lol.

    Thank goodness my iron has this tag on the cord says;

    "Please remove clothes before ironing, as failure to do so may cause injury and/or death!"

    Duh!

    .

  8. Wrong section for this question.

  9. so you can go golfing with them!

  10. ???????????????????????????????

  11. Never seen plastic handles on a set of clubs most have a rubber or poly/rubber compound.  And electric irons thats worse than the Laser guided putter and the putter with a TV that Adams golf makes.   Electric clubs definatly arn't USGA approved.

  12. Plastic is bad conductor of heat and electricity.

    So basically they protect you...(Never touch the metal parts when plugged!!! some people have died by electric shocks from defective irons and many other household items.)
