Why do employers get to a say in unemployment i thought they took money out of every check from the year B4?

If it is money i paid in why can they deny me benefits. It would seem to me that isf it iis my money i should be able to get it regardless or opt out and keep thatmoney every month

  1. What line on your paycheck says you pay unemployment insurance? This is usually paid for by the company. And they have a say in it to determine if your employment was terminated by something you controlled (resigned or did something to get you fired), or something outside your control (laid off or your position was eliminated).


  2. Never heard of an employee paying the unemployment taxes...........


  3. In the U.S., employers pay in to unemployment, not employees. It hasn't cost you a dime.

  4. What country are you talking about?  In some countries, employers pay the unemployment insurance costs alone, in others both employer and employee pay, and in others the employee pays.  Without knowing which country you're referring to it's impossible to answer.
