  1. because they are stuck up wanke*rs that live in they're own *****' world , and all there own family hate them.

  2. Well the Republican War on the Working Class has been going well I see.

They're trying to reduce democracy back into a Feudal State.

  3. Good question, and easy, they have to put in many hours to stay in competition. They have a vested interest and are obsessed with money coming in, They dream of time off in their boat, but it is only a day-dream.  They are surprised that others are not in as deep interest in their projects and progress. They are better to balance work with relaxation, that's the reason the Good Lord gave us the ' day of rest '

  4. I'll answer this question with another question:

Why do employees think their hard work will be rewarded with a plaque and an inscription on their gravestone?

It won't. If your employer is asking more than you feel is reasonable - leave, and let some other unfortunate do it instead,

  5. They do they just don't care!

  6. They do, thats why they pay you.  One to make you forget that you do, the other reason is because if you dont have a life you wouldn't need the money

  7. because they are paying you!!!! Nothing else matters. dont complain your getting a paycheck!

  8. Oh they realize it, they just don't care.

  9. Because unfortunately most people act as if their life AT work is their life outside of work (socializing in other words).

When you're at work, you sell your time and effort to your employer.

When you're not at work, you do whatever you want.

It's called being an adult, having a strong work ethic and being responsible. And if you behave irresponsibly, you get called on it, even fired when you prove to be useless on the job.

  10. I do and make that a sure thing!

At work realistically knowone cares about you like family and spouses.

They have their own families to care about .

Because of all the gossip and backbitting, I DONT get involved with people from work.

If I must attend mandetory social things I am cordial , keep the talk light and NOT personal.

I just dont trust people. Some people from work are plainly evil  And I do not wish to get hurt again.

If someone does share personal things with me I dont blab it around the place.

And I agree with flubster! WELL PUT!!

  11. They only act that way if you are easily replaceable, I think.

  12. At one time or another I have employed or supervised about 250 people.  Of them about 249 will take every advantage they possibly can of the boss.

I really don't give a d**n what you do when you punch out but while you are on the clock you have to produce or my company goes in the s*****r.  Punch in on time, do your job and punch out on time.  We will get along fine.  Take a nap while on the clock, run a personal errand while on the clock, take a 4 hour lunch while on the clock... well you get the idea.  No one is worth that sort of grief to a boss.

Remember, the boss has bosses too.  They may be stock holders or customers or just someone higher up the food chain but I have to account for your personal errand time, you nap and your 4 hour lunch.  OK, so I am an @$$ hole.  I expect you to do what you are being paid for; get used to it, get over it or get another job.

You can always quit and start your own business.  If you think working for me for 8 hours a day 5 days a week is bad, wait until you are working for yourself 13-18 hours a day 7 days a week.  And if you aren't willing to work like that you better stay where you are.  If you expect to open a business, be at work 8 hours a day and goof off 5 of them, get ready to lock the doors because you will go belly up in a matter of weeks.

  13. As a business owner, I hate to state the obvious but most businesses and employers are not truly interested in their employees personal lives outside of work.  Our concern is having a successful operation, generating a profit, and growing for everyone at the company so we all benefit.

Many times, I believe employees forget we are also people with personal lives outside too.  We don't always get to do what we want.  Often times, we are working outside of work hours and have so much invested (financially) and it causes a lot of stress if times are tough.  While it's relatively easy for employees to decide to leave if they choose, an employer does not always have that option (especially if they are contracted for terms) or are part owner/ invested in the company in some way.

Many companies have company handbooks and policies so you know what is expected of you to perform your job and can accomodate personal time off.  It is not "owed" to you to be paid for in many places.  It is a courtesy as an employee we offer.

This is a very tough economy to be in and everyone is replacable in business - especially if it's not turning a profit or being successful.  And sometimes we have to make very difficult decisions that are never personal; they are in the best interest of the company and the other employees as well.  It is a team involvement.  That's why it's called "business" and a "job". :)

Also, many employees don't understand being an employer is not always as glamorous as you may perceive.  Many try their best to accomodate you as best we can.  It's a lot of stress, responsibility, and financial investment we make so you can have a job to help us be successful there...and take that to your life outside of work.

  14. From an employers point of view (I'm not one, I asked the boss the same question a while back) they want you to show dedication and hard work which includes your own time being used to make the company grow. They then hope that pride and a sense of achievement will make you do more and because of this they promote, give wage rises etc.

However, most people believe they are over worked and under paid (more so now, with this kack economy) so you choose your release above your work. Also for most people who employ workers there business is their life, they seem to forget the fact that other people find their release in their hobbies and interests outside of work.

  15. Lol tell me about it...i once worked in a big department store and they seriously wanted me to devote my enitre life to working there. They were always coming out with comments like "here at TJ Hughes we like to consider all our employees as one big family"...but as soon as you ask to borrow money or turn up late they look at you with pure disgust! i mean they did say we were one big family!!...is'nt that what family do???? lol.
