Why do emt and paramedic make so little?

shouldnt they get paid way more? here they get paid the same as bus drivers. i think they should be getting at least twice more. im looking into going to school for it but i havent decided yet

  1. because they provide a public service which is paid for by the governement if you want them to be paid more pay higher taxes


  2. because they arent like they are shown on ER and tv. A typical day for a EMT driver is transporting people from nursing homes to hospital and hospitals to nursing homes. doesnt take much "skill" honestly if I were you I would considor a different profession maybe nursing

Because life is unfair, none of the essential service people are paid enough money in my opinion, all a bus driver has to do is drive and be alert, paramedics have to keep someone alive safely till they get too the hospital, its the same with fireman, saving people from burning building is just an awesome, yet underpaid job, policeman, my brother is one and he hates having to find dead bodies and scraping people of the highway, theres not enough money for any of these people, even nurses are treated badly, its so unfair, but I suppose you just do what your heart tells you do to, goodluck whichever way you go! :)
