Why do english houseflies bite? they sure dont here in Canada?

English houseflies don't bite. They can't - they don't have jaws. They feed by bringing up digestive juices from the stomach onto food, then sucking up the resulting goo when it's been broken down enough. You must be thinking of a different kind of fly - a horsefly, perhaps?
