Why do european players play so soft when they're in the nba compared to international competition

In the nba, european stars like dirk and gasol don't play much defense or do that well in the big games, but in the olympics it's the United States that is depicted as being soft and lacking toughness, and the european players who play defense and have toughness.

  1. internationals have different rules because they are strick but they can really express their talent in the states.

  2. Thats because Team USA thinks they can still cruise along and win every game. Just watch one of the games. The second they get up by 10 Chris Paul, Kobe, and everyone else tries to turn it into an And1 game. They just throw ally oops and it results in alot of turnovers.

  3. Uh no, that's not the case at all.

Europeans aren't bangers and they don't like to battle down low.   Their tactic is to zone you up so you shoot jump shots while they drain threes from downtown all night long.

Europeans are the best shooters, so they play to their strengths obviously.

Team USA is going to have to play really tough man to man defense to prevent the Europeans from lighting them up.    And they're gonna have to hit some jump shots.

Good thing we have Micheal Redd.

    Except that's about it =/

  4. EUropeans r very patriotic. When it comes to playing 4 ur country, they get out their whips and whip u! Especially knowing thay the USA is on fire!
