Why do even seemingly smart sometimes flunk on the SAT tests anyways?

So,what is it precisely the SAT suppose to measure. Is it anyway scientific?

  1. SAT measures reasoning (not knowledge) vs. ACT (which measures knowledge)


  2. The only thing that the SAT measures is how likely a student is to be successful during their first year of college.  It leaves out so many factors, too.  Smart people perform poorly on the SAT for many reasons: test anxiety, weak analytical skills, and lack of knowledge of the subject material.
