  1. What should we have attitude about? And racism is alive and well in SA, but not white against black. It's black against white too. You will not believe the level of poverty in this country, within the black and white population. The only people in this country who gets somewhere is the ANC government and their cronies. Crime is so bad in this country. Most of what happens in South Africa never gets into the mainstream media, because the ANC monitors everything. Most ex-South Africans have family and friends that still live in this country. I think they have a right to their opinions and at least if the people outside open their mouths and tell people about what is happening here, someone gets to hear our story. The ANC can't stop them from talking. So I say, Let Them Talk!

  2. Thats so funny, you think we rubbish it, when all we do is tell the truth. Would you rather have us lie about it? And have tourists going there and being killed because they have the wrong idea? I never exadurate or lie about any of my stories. Yet they sound so bad it may seem that way to other people. There is very little that is good about South Africa, especially when you come to another country where thinks like service actually matter.

The only good thing I can say about SA vs New Zealand is the telecommunications. But for how long? Not much... the government will make sure of that. AND THATS THE TRUETH, if you dont believe it, then you are definately not in the country.

  3. Because they're emotionally involved.

  4. I think most are angry and frustrating for having to leave in the manner they did. Its difficult for whites especially to find jobs. All of us have some bad experiences with crime and some people actually get the worst of it. . .

They leave because they want a better future for their kids and themselves. Personally I believe if it set on your path, you will experience it anywhere in the world.

But I sympathize with them and don't blame them for leaving. These people I feel are allowed to trash or vent there anger. The grass isn't always greener on the other side and you must think of what a mission it was for them to leave. . .

  5. Speaking out against a government policy does not make one unpatriotic. That is how policies get looked at again and reworked when they are not working.

Badmouthing for the sake of badmouthing is not patriotic. It's just badmouthing, sour grapes from bullies. There are a few bullies in here for sure. There are bullies everywhere. South Africans, judging from what some people in here write, think they have the market cornered on crime, racism and every other negative you can think of but they don't. It's world wide. It seems worse to those living in it just because it is so close to home.

I go around complaining about problems here (Canada) like they are the worst in the world. Intellectually I know better and I suspect that those still in S.A. are pretty much the same.

When we are outside of our country for a time, we have to rely on others for news, are prone to believing the worst. Bullies outside of their own country are not relaying the truth as it is but as it has been told to them and how it fits with their own biases and together they come out as trashing. Give credit to the readers though. Some of them recognize nay saying when they hear it.

I wouldn't spend a lot of time on those who rubbish a part of S.A. as long as they are promoting some good change. If they are just badmouthing for the sake of being able to use dirty words with impunity - well, they are the ones with a problem, not you.

I would suggest that if you want people to check out your links you put the http in front as many people will not go unless it is ready to click on,

  6. You must be emotionally dead to say that you are too busy working on solutions to talk or mention the evil thats happening in South Africa. My soul cries when I see mothers who's young daughters are shot dead in front of them or gang raped and then killed. How can one not cry out against such evil? Never but never use the excuse that you are too busy to find solutions that you do not have time to dwell on this. If you tell me this, then I say to your face that you are a liar and do not care about your fellow human. The world should know about these evil deeds and South Africans should feel ashamed for these deeds that are taking place. So get out of my fecking face when I feel sad and angry about the fecking murderers of children and defenseless people.

  7. That's what I have been asking here in this forum for a while and I was labeled a racist.

I doubt if you will find a satisfactory answer.

One gets the feeling that you are on a campaign to bring us  down and that they want SA to go down so they can point a finger and say we told you so and laugh.

The irony is that they contributing to problem as well by their constant negativity hornestly I just can't see how their constant critism helps us.

They offer us zero solutions they tell us what we know.

    Its just bitterness and anger.

    *******

    Res

How does turning away tourists(taking away money that could be use to fight crime) help?

You people talk about telling the truth.

Fine then tell the whole truth not everything is bad here and that is the truth.

  8. They are grieving for things they have lost. good and bad.

You should leave them alone if its so offensive to you.

They have left everything behind to start again, and even in a great new place they have to adjust and find friends. As soon as they do they will be too busy to come on here and complain.

A girl was raped last week about 1 km from my home, but it didnt make the news. There is so much crime that if it is not "big" enough it doesnt even get reported. Crime is bad, xenophobia attacks were bad. Stop pretending its great. If it is so great where you live tell us where you are so we can all come stay by you.

  9. Man i wonder why they don't shut the fck up. they left and still concerned i dont really understand those pigs. you ask your self like what do they still need? i hope  find one i will glue his mandibles

  10. I am not an ex-South African. Although I live in Germany, I am hanging on to my SA passport.  And I definitely do not trash South Africa.  South Africa is a beautiful country with the most friendly people, fantastic nature and wildlife.  I cannot fault anything about those aspects of my country.

It is the government with its crazy ideas like BEE and AA FOREVER, that get negativity from me.  The government´s idea of safety and security, law and order for its citizens is the prime hype amongst those living in or out of South Africa.

Are you happy with everything that the government is delivering at present ?? And are you satisfied with the speed at which things are "improving" for the nation ??  Are you proud of the high murder, rape, crime and HIV statistics ??

As a patriotic South African, I find this most infuriating! Why is the government so slapgat ??

  11. You are not a Patriot. You are suffering from delusion especially when you advocate that discredited ANC propaganda site SA Good News.

A true Patriot will expose the ANC and what has happened to South Africa and it is not only South Africans who are doing it. Sky News did an expose on South African crime yesterday and not only is it horrific but extremely harrowing.

South Africa has been turned into a Marxist African cesspit and since this is a Travel site any rightminded person will expose the crimnality that happens EVERY day in South Africa to potential visitors. This is a more realistic site for you to read:

  12. I don't rubbish it but don't live there after my boss was hijacked for the second time in 1996 and a friend was shot in his driveway in 2003. Crime is bad and I tell people that.

  13. All the South Africans that I know who live in the UK (as opposed to coming over for a couple of years and then returning) don't agree with the latent racism that still exists in the country.

Regardless of all the reforms in recent years, SA is still a racist country, and will remain so for decades. The attitudes of a lot of the white population is the main reason that I have heard why modern free thinking ex pats feel SA is a bad place.  I wouldn't want to bring my kids up there.

  14. They are not EX South Africans. And they are not necessarily happy elsewhere. Most have a responsibility towards their children/family to provide a safer environment.  It does not help being patriotic and shouting 'I love South Africa' when we or our children are lieing six feet under. People are stating facts; they are not 'rubbishing' South Africa. You are infuriated? Well if that is all it takes to infuriate you then it would be interesting to know what you feel when one of your family members have been murdered. More than infuriated?

Ayiza: Good grief do you truly believe that people would wish the downfall of South Africa purely for the satisfaction of saying 'we told you so.' Sometimes you amaze me with your thought process. Everybody here, and every complaint ...has everything to do with the fact that we are fighting and protesting FOR the love and survival of South Africa and not against. If anything those people that keep quiet about what is happening  are contributing to the downfall of South Africa...because it is not heard.

  15. Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe, just maybe it's the TRUTH!!??

Ever heard of reality? Yeah well I tell it.

I always mention how beautiful SA and Zim are plus the rest of Africa but with the crime the way it is, sometimes the real beauty and nature is over taken by it. I'm sorry to get so cross and blunt, please don't take it personally but I am sick of some people on here saying I trash Africa because I have left that's not the case. I didn't want to leave but was forced to. The case is TIA (This Is Africa) and it's a reality that everyone should be aware of!

Also like to add like what Res said, some of us are NOT happy in other countries. I am one of these people, but I can't just leave my family (mom & dad) because I feel the need for Africa. Sometimes you have to sacrifice things in life and this is just one of these things. Who knows maybe I'll be back someday but for know I have a duty to my family here!
