  1. Well usually if they smoke, they're at higher risk for these diseases.  Wearing corrections might not have anything to do with it.


  2. A lot of those conditions are more prone to the elderly, sometimes people with high negative prescriptions (myopes) are more prone to retinal detachments because their eye is more in the shape of an egg than round like average, leaving their retina more prone to damage.
