Why do families have to be such jerks?

I am scheduled for surgery on Friday for cancer and I have a relative who just died of colon cancer last night. Could my sister even call that my nephew passed on? No, she emailed me. It's hard enough having to have a hysterectomy and she passes on this news right now!

I know I have cheap wads for family members telling me how hard they are having financially but with four people getting over $4000 a month, couldn't they even afford a phone call?

I'm really sorry and i give you all my sympathy.  That could be a hard situation to deal with, but maybe your sister couldn't handle actually saying that her kid died instead of writting out her feelings.

I hope your surgery comes out really well.  I guess in these situations u just have to pray 4 other and ur self.
