  1. what are you talking about many have and many will.

  2. why do normal people never die?

  3. Never?  Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, The Big Bopper all on the same plane.

Senator John Tower, Steve Fosset, John Denver, John F. Kennedy Jr., Ricky Nelson...

Oh, changin' the rules on us mid-game.  Remind me to never play Monopoly with you. ;-)  Probably because they're rich enough to have their own planes and famous enough that they'd avoid public flights.

  4. Famous people are special :)

No they have died in plane crashes.

Famous people usually don't travel in commerical flight's because they can afford private planes.

Nick Vanos was a basketball player who died on a Northwest flight.

Nick Vanos, Phoenix Suns center, was among the 156 people who died when a Northwest Airlines MD-80 plane clipped a light pole in a parking lot while taking off from the Detroit, Michigan airport. The plane crashed into an underpass beneath Interstate 94. A four-year-old girl miraculously survived the crash.

  5. flying is safe, safer than driving

  6. Because they can afford private jets, which also crash.

  7. I guess "famous" people do not die in commercial airline crashes because virtually nobody dies in them.  In the past 6 years there has only been one fatal airliner crash in the US and it claimed 50 lives.  Over that time something like 12 billion passengers have ridden on commercial airliners worldwide, resulting in a fatality rate of about 4.16 e-6 (.000000416) US fatalities per 1000  passengers.

Your odds are probably better to get struck by lightning WHILE ALSO getting hit by a meteor.  And for one of that microscopic percentage of people to also be famous...well that just increases the odds against it.

Edit:  Just for clarification, the actual fatality rate is slightly higher.  I am simply including all fatalities from the one crash (Comair in KY) against a worldwide estimate of 2 billion passengers per year.  Its an estimate and not really meant to reflect actual numbers.  Obviously far more people than that have died if you include foreign crashes, accidents that don't involve crashes, and natural causes.

  8. Lynard Skynard...Jim Croce...Buddy Holly and his band...Patsy Cline...there are over 35000 musicians or celebrities gone due to plane crash...google celebrity plane crashes...more often than you think

  9. Loads of famous people die in crashes, they are no more mortal than you and I.

  10. Everyone forgot Stevie Ray Vaughn.

  11. The Munich air disaster took place on 6 February 1958, when British European Airways Flight 609 crashed on its third attempt to take off from a slush-covered runway at the Munich-Riem airport in Munich, West Germany. On board the plane was the Manchester United football team, nicknamed the Busby Babes, along with a number of supporters and journalists. 23 of the 44 passengers on board the aircraft died in the disaster.
