Question:

Why do fans show up in different jerseys?

Why would a fan show up to a game wearing the jersey of a team not playing? Especially when it is the rival of a team playing.

For example wearing a Red Sox jersey to a Yankee - Detroit game in NY, or a Cubs jersey to a White Sox -Detroit game in Chicago.

Are they just looking for abuse or just dumb?

  1. SOme ppl are just fans of baseball overall.  So big of a fan that they go and watch the rival's games.

They wear jerseys of their own fav team because they wanna show support and its the best thing to wear at the stadium.

But a person wearing a Red Sox at the Bronx should keep an eye open for flying beer bottles and vice versa.

  2. Probably because they're baseball fans, but maybe not fans of the teams playing. I went to a Pirates-Cubs game and wore my Yankees hat. Did the same when I went to a Mets-Reds game, but that was mainly to tweak my Mets fan friend who I went to the game with.

It happens all over. It's not that big of a deal to me.

  3. They're just showing support for their team.

  4. Because they believe in the fifth amendment--freedom of expression.

  5. When you go to a baseball game, you've gotta wear something baseball. It's something baseball isn't it?

  6. It doesn't bother me cause they are just baseball fans backing their team. I don't have an issue with it

  7. If someone loves the sport, they will go to any MLB game they get a chance to. Whether or not their team is playing. If there team isnt, then they still like to support their team!

  8. baseball fans not just teams fans

  9. People just like to support their team, even if it's not one playing in a game.

  10. Haha because they want to rep their team. I was at a Patriots vs. Dolphins game in Miami and the crowd broke out in "Let's go Red Sox" since is was the weekend of game 7 of the ALCS.

  11. No, their not dumb. No their not looking for abuse. Their just showing pride in their team.

  12. showing their colors, nothing wrong with that.

  13. Some people are simply into baseball in general, and are happy to express that without making a big deal about which teams are actually on the field before them.

I once went to a Padres game, where they were giving out beach bags with the Friar on it. It was a handy tote bag; I took it to games for a few years, regardless of which park I was visiting.

  14. why dont u ask them.

instead of crying about it on yahoo answers like a coward

  15. some people are just fans of the game.  they dont care what team is playing
