Why do feminists delude themselves that they speak for ALL women?

It's clear to me that a lot of women don't agree with their agenda especially when they start to learn about feminism

It's funny how few women reject the actions and achievements feminism has made.  Way i see it ALL America women, vote, drive, 99% have worked at one point and equal pay, love the option to get an equal education .... we may not speak for ALL women...but no one can argue that we havnt help All women

Of course feminism doesn't speak for all women....does child services speak for all children? does the president or the US speak for all Americans?

Why do religious institutions delude themselves thinking their moral values are universal and apply to everyone? Because they want to control other people.

Because they believe (erroneously) that gender is a construct. They want to imagine that all women would be like them if it wasn't for socialisation.

And the other reason is pure egoism. Feminists like to think that they have a monopoly over s*x-equality advocacy ("feminists are those that believe women are human beings" - puke!).

I don't know but it p*sses me off - I hate anyone claiming to speak for me, and especially when they think they know better what I want than I do myself.

Well that would be a stereotype against feminists, as not all of them are deluded or believe that they speak for all women :-)

Your sweeping generalisation is erroneous (what a surprise). I know full well that most of the women I meet are not feminists and I rarely bother to say much about my beliefs - similar to the fact that I rarely mention that I am a veggie - I know that most other people are not, and I do not feel the need to share my beliefs with all and sundry.

We don't. And, frankly, we're beyond caring about that. There are women who go around screaming about how they don't need or want feminists to do anything for them. It's not hurtful, just really irritating.

I think feminists delude themselves that they speak for ALL women because nobody will listen to somebody who speak for themselves.  But it is only what I think.  This may not be the real reason.
