umm theres also alot of questions exactly the same as mine. But ill just write again in response to new comments.I think its mostly the filipino americans or filipinos who live in the western world.Ive noticed that most of them always say there part or half spanish, but i couldn't see any spanish resembalance..and i read that only 2 to 3% have spanish ancestery,my friend he dates filipinas and he told me that most of them has said there part spanish(of course this is the ones in the western world) because in the Philippines there so proud of there cool pinoy heritage, where here in the west they seem to just disrespect it and seem ashamed or embarrased and start to claim that they have other bloodlines like spanish or american.I'm a 1/4 filipino myself and really proud!! ;) im not really proud of being 1/2 spanish,i heard there the most racsist people in the world and they did terrible things to the natives raped, killed, burn down there homes and villages when they discovered and conquered the New world.I think its much better off being a Filipino!

  1.  The real reason is in the West, Asians are looked down on so in order to defferiate themselves from Asians and thus this negative stereotype, they tell other people, esp White people they are part-white. This known as an identity crisis complex. Problem solved. A truely proud race do not make such claims as it demeans their own race and is an act of betrayal. But hey it's nice to say youre part white isnt?

  2. 700 years, that was how long the Arab speaking Moors ruled Spin.  Spaniards occupied the Philippines for 330 years, i.e., Spain was ruled twice as long

  3. Do just a little bit of research. The Spanish colonized the islands and ruled there for FOUR HUNDRED YEARS (and just shy of the 20th Century). Some of us have great grandparents that were born during Spanish rule. Is it that much of a stretch that they might be part Spanish? At least to some degree?

  4. hi,  I belong to a race called "the  beautiful race"  hehehe

  5. So Philipinos are Spanish or half Spanish? I lived in Spain for eight years the Spaniards would find this to be stupid. Like they don't claim to be Arabs even thought the Arabs were their for five centuries.

  6. lo que hay que leer, we spaniards are devils!!!! hahahahahaha yes, we rape, burn, kill people!! we love it!!!! how can there be so many ignorant people???

  7. I'm spanish! and I look so Filipino! both my family sides are spanish! but since my dad's side look so filipino we consider ourselves as 2-5% filipino because of our traits! at school people would think I'm filipino and not spanish, I tell them I am part Filipino. Basically in my culture we spanish are techinally part Filipino because of the past that we shared with them. Percentage is about 2-5%. The filipino could have some spanish blood in them too. The guy I like, he is Filipino and his last name is spanish, he also looks spanish and filipino, mixed. Like hey, I may be spanish but I'm not afraid to say that I'm part filipino as well. Even though I am not certain.

  8. I'm a Eurasian of Filipino & Spanish mix but I never walk around saying "Hey I'm Spanish-Filipino" unless they cornered me & asked on my Caucasian features. And 99% of the time, those who claim to be part-Spanish or Spanish-Chinese-Filipino mix are in reality 100% Malay.

  11. f**k you///

  12. where did you get the information that we filipinos are 80 percent spanish????????

  13. well, i think because ef the spanish colonization for about 400yrs,filipipino and spanish share a lot of common things!!

  14. we should not generalize. filipinos abroad may act different from filipinos here in the philippines like me. even filipinos here in the philippines itself act and think different from one another. and hey people do make mistakes. maybe some people thought they are part spanish when they're not. it's not a crime. let them be. i'm proud to be filipino and i read a lot of racist comments about filipinos online. can't help but comment sometimes. my great grandfather on my mother's side is Don Pedro Estayo from spain (pure spanish) and my great grand father on my father's side is from china (sorry, i can't spell his name without using chinese characters that my computer does not have) but his last name is Tan. i do not say anything about my foreign blood unless people ask me about it. i am filipino and i consider myself filipino and i'm proud of it. it is a fact though that people always ask me about my bloodline because i do not look like the typical pure-blooded filipinos (short and dark). i look chinese for most people especially for chinese people. some filipinos who are not exposed to the chinese community don't think i look chinese because they think that all chinese have very chinky eyes (very wrong). in my opinion, i do not look spanish but i have medium brown hair, pink nipples, and skin that is whiter than my spanish professors (pure spanish from spain with brown eyes and blue eyes). i speak chinese fluently just like my chinese relatives. my grandparents, relatives and ancestors speak spanish fluently. again, i am not trying hard to prove anything here. i am just stating a fact that not all filipinos who claim to have this blood and that are fake. i posted this comment to defend those filipinos including myself who are not like the ones you are talking about. :)

  15. haha your one of them I think your claiming your a Spanish..Dumb! Filipino are the goodesssssssssstttttttttt....PEOPLE I ever meet! And I think all filipino have spanish blood..But you cannot see a sign or whatever...Because of the mix of blood...I'm chinese-american..

  16. So far the best website for translation ( according to me) is http://english2urdutranslations.com/

  17. in 100% percent of filipinos 80% percent have spanish blood but it was all gone...beacuse of new family generation...like my grandmothers grandma is spanish....i dont look like spanish..But my little sister looks spanish...

    filipinos are really beautiful...

  18. how would you know? if they are not spanish? hahhaha....
dUh? My Grandmother is irish- spanish and my grandfather is 1/4 spanish and 1/4puertorican and 1/2 Filipino...My mom has a spanish resemblance and she's really beautiful...But when my mom married my  filipino-mexican-hispanic father...And when I was born,,,I dont have any spanish resemblance or whatever..But I'm really beautiful(others agree)..hahhah
I think that's beacuse of mix...I look like 100% pure filipino..
    (I have the spanish,puerto rican,mexican,hispanic,irish,filipino blood)

  19. colonial mentality, its a well known phenomenon. strange other previously colonised country natives dont make similar claims. filipinos seem to suffer more from this mentality than others eg vietnam, macau, taiwan, malaysia, burma, india, they were also colonised, but rarely claim mixed ancestry. it is strange that they desire spanish ancestry, as colonisation is a type of exploitation, and surely being a descendant of such people is not a good thing! puzzling indeed!
