Why do fingernails grow so fast when you're pregnant? That's kinda strange...?

I am 2 months, almost 3 months pregnant. My fingernails seem to be growing like weeds! Any answers? Thanks! One more question, my last period was June 15, 2008. I would be a different month on the 15 of each month, right?

Because your eating more and your body is growing your baby, it also produces chemicals that make your hair and nails grow longer, stronger, etc., and some women can notice it, some don't. It's not a big deal, it will stop after the baby is born.

I really don't know why but it happens, mine have gotten stronger and my hair has gone from brown to black!

I think it's just the hormones and such, you're body is producing more and I guess there are more dead cells that go to your finger nails...
