Why do fire extinguishers sometimes leak fluid?

Its a portable Chubb fire extinguisher - only about three years old.

Is it possible to (a) stop this leakage (b) prevent it?

  1. Anything that is filled with fluid can leak. Check and see if it is still under warranty.  Look up "fire equipment" in the yellow pages.


  2. That is a very good fire extinguisher but at the same time they do have o-rings that seal the top section that can crack along with a valve that can leak and so that is why you should have in inspected once a year for safety reasons.
