  1. because you are wearing something that moves more water (fins are usually bigger) and makes it easier to kick harder.

my coach always tells evryone to wear fins than says "Not you" and points to me- so i never get fins, most of them beat me! gr. i hate when that happens. but it makes more of a challenge.

    Good Question!

  2. I think it's because flippers don't have any spaces between them so water doesn't just flow through them (like your toes)

    Interesting question!!:D

  3. they make your feet wider therefor moving more water when you kick your feet

  4. Simply put - they are more efficient. They resemble a fish's fin more than your foot does, so the same energy input will produce greater thrust due to their shape.

  5. more fore pushing the water, thus you move, there is more surface area

  6. Because they help u move through the water. My coaches told me that. I dont no notin im just a 10 year old girl on a swim team.

    Interesting Question!!!!:)

  7. There are tiny micro propellers in each fin. About 100-120 per square inch. As you move your feet up and down this powers the propellers which in return pushes you through the water a lot quicker

    Just jokes.

It help you become more like a fish and they are good at swimming in the water. Even the ones that get caught.
