I have friends who live all over Florida and everyone says they have never been in a tropical storm. The storm record map shows storms have effected every sq ft in Florida, but noone ever lives through one of them. It never happened, it didnt exist. Is it denial that they live in this god forsaken area or what? I guess it isnt dry in Nevada, doesnt rain in Oregon, and Minnesota hasnt had a freeze in years...cmon folks why do you lie so much?

  1. Most Floridians depend, either directly or indirectly, on the tourist industry for their livelihood. In those circumstances, it is hardly surprising that the last thing they want to admit, is that they sometimes get bad weather, or worse....hurricanes.

  2. 99% of us have been in a tropical storm or hurricane, and the remaining 1% are liars.

  3. Most everyone has who has lived more than a year or two in the state.

  4. A tropical storm is wimpy.  Sure, we've all been through them, but it's nothing more than a heavy thunderstorm.
