  1. What a brilliant question!! Ive never wondered it before but now you mention it I have noticed this as well!!

    Hope someone knows!!

  2. Flies rely, predominantly, on their sense of sight to survive. That being said, you probably have the answer to your question figured out now. Just in case you’re still wondering, though…An insect with very good 3D sight abilities, sitting in the middle of the room, can see threats approaching from a larger area. Couple this with the sheering air flows that tend to be more numerous near walls and you have a reasonable explanation of this propensity. Bottom line is…it’s a safer place to be.

  3. They seem to be attracted to lampshades, or so I'd noticed :s

  4. Its so that you can put one of those sticky fly strips where they fly and catch them all. Thats what I do in my garage and on my back patio. Since I began doing this I havent had any flies in my house.

  5. cos they are showoffs so swat the big headed twats

  6. Flys flying in tight circles in a room are a good indication the weather is gonna change.

In the fall they are searching for a place to get away from cold fronts, a place to hole-up until the temperature rises again.

Some times they are flying only a couple feet from the floor... that is a low pressure in the atmosphere approaching, and in a couple days it will cool off out side.

Some times they are flying head high to a grown man, round and round and round and always in the same parameter of an unseen arena... as tho contained in a invisible container, and 2 or 3 days later you wake up and there is a foot of snow on the ground.

In the fall... before the snows of winter come, they invade my cabin,... thousands of them..

...and i swat them as tho my life depends on the killing... there are squished carcases on the walls, the ceilings, the tables, the windows, the furniture... until there are  hundreds of dead flys... every where..

... and there is a spewing of new flys..!!.. into my living space.. that seems to be an unending..

.. and suddenly one day i wake to see the snow laying out side my door, and they are gone...  as tho they had never been around..  except for the hundreds of dead ones laying in the window sills...
