  1. I bet a light bulb would break if frozen.

  2. Probably because you are likely to use the fridge at night more often than the freezer thus rendering a light unnecessary.

  3. I can tell you it is DEFINITELY not the cold--we have outside lights in the garage, and even at -30 degrees, they are not affected.

  4. economic principles

There is enough benefit to having a light in the refrigerator to cost-justify it.  There is not one for the freezer.

  5. Lights produce heat. ??

The frozen lightbulb would condensate too much.  ??

  6. Not all freezers don't have lights.  Refrigerators are much larger and things can get buried in the back easier.

  7. Could it be because the lightbulb would freeze to death?

  8. Mine does!!

Built into the lid, it is a Zanussi chest freezer.

  9. I think the reason is that the freezer is a relatively small compartment, and most things in it are wrapped anyway -- they are pretty easy to see and there's not a lot of color or detail required.

  10. lol.

Because no one goes into the freezer at night....

If so, the Popsicles or ice-cream is noticeable  enough not to need a light!

    :o)
