Why do friends talk about each other behind the other back?

You know how friends talk about the other friend when he or she is not around then when the other one is gone you talk about the other friend? Why do friends do that I know me and my friends are guilty of it. But we love each other to death. Do you know why friends do that? Are any you peeps guilty of doing that? Thanks Holla!

Maybe because we are afraid we will hurt the person feeling whom we are talking about. Therefore, we go to another friend and ask their opinion before we tell the other friend. Everyone has been guilty of doing this rather intentionally or not.

a true friend wont talk about their friend behind their backs...so if theyre doing it..then need to take another look at the friendship..

A true friend wont talk behind your back if they had a problem with you they would come to you about it. Most of the time when people talk its because they are jealous or it makes them feel better to know that someone might feel worse than they do. if someone is talking about you behind your back i would be looking for better friends.
