  1. !?!?! you cant cure hiccups

  2. I think it has to do with swallowing too much air or something.

This sounds funny but a spoon full of sugar cures the hiccups. I have tried several times and it always works for me.

  3. Hiccups start from your diaphragm. When you inhale, it pulls down to help pull air into the lungs. When you exhale, it pushes up to help push air out of the lungs. Sometimes the diaphragm gets irritated. So when this happens, it pulls down in a jerky way, which makes you suck air into your throat suddenly. When the air rushing in hits your voice box, you're left with hiccups. Things that cause hiccups are eating too quickly or too much, an irritation in the stomach or throat, or feeling nervous or excited.

  4. I actually came across this question because I just got the hiccups about 20 minutes ago.

It was annoying me, so yahoo answers to save the day?!

Turns out 'The Lady Behind the Camera', (if i got that right) has the cure right on the head.

Saw the girl above her saying a spoon-fulll of sugar. Sounded cool and delicious but yeah...rather not.

Then looked below, and saw Lady saying to take long deep breaths. I meditate, so I am used to it.

Inhale long and deep for about 30 seconds to a minute. Youll be fine after ;D

I also dont know how its caused, but clearly its an irritation of your diaphram, just like sometimes parts on your body twitch. Theres usually a small malfunction OR deficiency in your body. (If your eyelid twitches it could be from not getting enough sleep.)

  5. Take a threat of clothing, roll it up and put it in your mouth so it can soak in saliva.

Now take it and stick it on your forehead, leave it there....and just go about ur bussiness, ull see that it will be gone after a few minutes.

---I know u dont believe me, but i bet u a million bucks it works.

I do it all the time even thought i have no idea how it works.

  6. hold your breath and count to 30

  7. hiccups usually have no cause it's your diaphragm (the thing under your lungs that helps you take in air) spasming.

all you need to do is take deep slow breaths and it will go away.

  8. i usually hold my breath for as long as i can.
