Why do ghost stay here? Can't they go to heaven or someplace?

As a believer in the paranormal..I tend to believe they have something left unfinished or someone left to watch over.  For example, if they died a horrible death by murder maybe they want to lead justice to the culprit, or if its a young mother perhaps she wants to ensure the safety of her child, before her soul can be at peace in eternity.

good question.  as someone who investigates the paranomal I will say it is free will.  You can go to God anytime, but you have to make that choice.  If you want to remain for whatever reason then God will let you I believe.  Usually they stay due to fear.  Other spirits have crossed over, and are just coming back to say hi.

They're just video recordings in the atmosphere, not really there.

Ghost are spirits trapped between dimensions, they haven't transcended because most of them don't realize that they are dead, and some hang on to things or family, they feel they need to finish something. Ghost have personalities usually similar to that which they had when they were in physical manifestation. Just because a person dies, doesn't mean they will become instantly enlightened.

i think they stay here cuz they couldnt R.I.P, or they want 2 get revenge over someone who probably killed them or harmed them in some sort of way. i dont know if they go 2 heaven or h**l. Good question though

As far as ghosts go there are three common known accepted kinds

Risidual: This is like a recording. A strong moment in history, violent action, or even repeated actions have caused a stain in that area. So at 7:34 am you may see grandma elly walk through the kitchen everymorning even though she has past on. This type of haunting is usaully seen with battlefeilds and is considered non-intelligent and non-violent. They don't know you're there b/c noone intellagent is there.

Poltergist; considered mischevious, and semi intelligent. This is just a bunch of energy bundled together. Not really one persons 'Soul' but a combination of happening in that specific area.

Intelligent hauntings are an actual person. Whether they need to move on to heaven or not depends on if you believe in it. These spirits could just be the powerful ones that can manifest themselves here. I believe it's by choice. The need to finish something, protect something, or the person/ghost may just want to be surrounding by what it knows.

Well some are grounded here by unsolved issues, while others stay because they want to and still others just visit when they want to. Some are grounded because they died so suddenly they do not know they are dead.

I was always under the impression it was habit. They really didn't think they were dead, and just keep doing the same thing they always did. They could go someplace, they just don't have a reason to, or they may have a good reason to stay: revenge, or to protect a love one.
