Why do ghosts appear only at night?

Ok, I’m a skeptic, I don't believe in ghosts, I believe in demons. But seriously, for all you folks who do believe in them, I’ve been checking out people's "true" stories, & everyone I heard / read about had their experience happen at night.

Well, if ghosts are dead people & are unaffected by the present world, how come they only show up at night?

Spirits can appear in the day & the night.  There is no set time for sightings or activity.

Shadow people were reported to be seen in the day time.  Activitiy is reported at all times of the day.

Most believe however, that there is a specific time where spritis are the strongest.

I have sighted s ghost at the late hours of night.

I have had 'other' experiences during all hours of the day.

Does it matter what time of night these occurrence may happen? Seriously.

And... what you don't believe in ghosts???? but you do believe in demons.... get a reality check.

Where do you think your demons come from... maybe your crazy brain..... why do you want to pick on a ghost that may exist or not... in your way of thinking... that seems to only appear at night....

Do your demons follow you around during every hour of the day and  night.... I didn't realise it was a such a huge competition with ghosts and demons?!?!?!

One conception is that ghosts only come out at night.  Our team or if we want to just go looking around and see if I get any evps or actual pictures, we have gotten them during the day as well as at night.  I am not afraid to go at night and I am not afraid to go during the day.

     It all comes to what you prefer.  We do night and day investigations and I find more nasty activity happening in the late afternoon or just around sunset.

ghost a fake thing create a very intelligent person he has no proof to prove it so use to knight for this .night has no light. and light is the sign of truth and virtue. ghost, as you might be knowing, are those spirits which hate truth and commits vice. so they often come out at night and keep themselves away from sunlight.

ghosts can appear anytime, but the human mind is more at rest in the evenings and therefore more sensative to their manifestations.

Also, ghosts may attempt to avoid human contact and say dormant until people leave or go to sleep.

The last ghost I saw, I saw outside in the rain during the day.

its not that the 'show' up at night..they are always present but we only 'see' them during the night

Some people claim ghosts appear in the daytime too.  They say you're more likely to see a ghost at night because they're easier to see.  I say you can see a ghost at night because, given the darkness, you are less familiar with your surroundings, you are more likely to "hear" things, you are more likely to mistake what you are looking at and because you are in a more spooked frame of mind.

I have a difficult time understanding how you could be skeptical toward ghosts and spirits but perfectly OK with demons, given the void of evidence for all supernatural entities.

They don"t only appear at night.They can appear anytime.Its just at night it is quiter and less light.You would be more likely to see or hear them because of this.Another reason is because a lot of ghosts like the peace and quite and at night is proberly the only time when they can get some peace and quite .They can wander around the house or area in peace.Ghosts are use to peace and quite.I guess most ghosts have spent years in deserted unoccupied houses that are quite.Thats how they like it.

They're around every time. But the only thing is that, since they're somewhat transparent(not completely), you have to strain your eyes, if you want to look for them. But whereas during the nights, they can show some reflection, which enables us to look more clearly.

Here is my story that happened in broad daylight :

I was home alone on Easter. It was bright in my room and it was sunny out. My room and the hallway were well lit up with light. I was sitting on my bed with my laptop in my lap and my tv was on but i had the sound off. I was listening to my iPod. The door to my room is on my right when im on my bed. I can see the door to my parents room and part of the hallway. All of a sudden out of the corner of my eyes I see this dark shadow figure pass by my room and go into my parents room. Before my brain even registered that i was seeing something, before my head even finished turning towards it, i got this unexplainable chill feeling throughout my whole body. I had never felt anything like it before. I was frozen for a minute. I felt 100% sure that i had seen "something". I don't know how to explain why I am so sure but i am. I got up and walked and peeked into my parents room and no one was there. It wasn't my dog, it wasn't a shadow from a passing car cuz my house isn't shaped like that. This happened on the second floor so its not like someone was walking past a window or anything...so strange. It was not a plane in the sky or light reflecting off of anything...believe me i know. it was a shadow person...

Ghosts are real, demons are not. Ghosts do appear in the daytime also. It is just that most people go looking for a haunting experience at night. It is believed that the best times for a sighting is  between 11:00pm to 3:00am. So that is when most people seek out experiences and many people work during the day and it is late at night that they see ghosts because that is when they are calm and  are winding down.

That's a good question... i dont' know, maybe it's because people are more scared at night therefore making up stories about scary stuff at night is easier.  

That's kinda like the question "Why do alien stories always come from people that live out in the middle of nowhere in the boondocks somewhere?"

They don't only show up at night, there are many "sightings" in the day. Most people think of ghost as "things that go bump in the night" but that's because most people fear the dark and the unknown. The other theory is that when people are in the dark there main sense, there eyes, are useless, and other senses pick up from there.... making them more sensitive to the "other side"...

I don't believe in ghosts so I don't believe that I will ever see one night or day.

But I do believe in serial killers and I know I would be more frightened thinking about serial killers in the night than in the light of day.

Aside from lacking vision and feeling more vulnerable without our most useful sense I wonder if people could have evolved to be naturally more fearful at night when there is most danger from being eaten by unseen wild animals or falling off a cliff?

Ahh, now that would be because people have heightened sense's at night and their perception of reality is diminished. People have a fear of the dark simply because they cannot see things as they are in light. Therefore an object that you pay no attention to in light of day seems to mystically come alive at night and capture our imagination. Especially just before you fall asleep. You mental awareness is not as acute. So a simple jacket over a chair can not only seem to be "something lurking in the shadows" but if you stare for long enough you can even see it move! You even want it to move! Then the next morning you can say "wow I couldn't get to sleep last night because I swear I saw a ghost" or something to that effect.
