Question:

Why do girls expect guys to make the first move?

Wasn't there a feminist movement? I understand that socially it is more proper for the man to make the first move. I am new to this Yahoo Answers thing, and just checking out the categories and questions, I see a lot of girls asking about when a guy is gonna make a move. Personally, I think is shows character and confidence for a girl to approach me, am I the only one?

  1. i don't know why women are always waiting for the guy to make the first move,

i know that i have a hard time doing so.

but its just the fact of getting the words out for me

i guess its just old fashioned the other way,

    kind of like Chivalry

  2. Despite the fact that SOME women are still old fashioned, a lot of women  prefer to be chased and we all know men love chasing us ^_^. Why come off as desperate? I would rather a man who is willing to put in the effort and time to win me over. Is he willing to take things at MY pace. Will he stick around even if he isn't going to get any s*x? Does he have the same morals and values as myself?  It's pretty easy to tell what a man's motives and intentions are by how he reacts to some of the aforementioned! Hope this helps. I know not ALL women see it like this, but it's my opinion.

  3. I completely agree with you.

Don't you find it ironical that most of the women are saying "because we were taught this at a young age". Well, I'm sure many of us were also taught, or our parents were taught, that it is romantic for the woman to cook and clean and do other things that the feminist movement gets so vocal about. Isn't that a double standard? Girls, it doesn't matter what your parents or grandparents taught you. Equality goes both ways. Please don't be in denial, and please don't switch back and forth between "that's how society is" and "I want to change society's rules". You can't have it both ways. Pick one.  That's my advice to women.

  4. I suppose it's just sort of an old-fashioned thing. My mother always tells me to wait for the guy to make a move. I suppose it's just a habit of humans or something.

  5. i think they are turned on by being persued and feel they may look desperate if they bust a move

  6. yeah, i agree man

  7. i would expect the guy, because it just feels more romantic. beside if a girl approaches they looked at as easy.

  8. My girlfriend made the first move, and kissed me. It was great!

  9. No matter how modern a society is, culture will always stand strong.  It has been in the human culture that men would make the first move.  Girls, no matter how interested they are, would always stand back and wait for that first move.  Character and confidence are another thing.  A confident girl is not likely to make the first move either, knowing too well that the man will always make the first move.  She is confident of that. She prefers to respond, rather than initiate.

  10. It's just the way that we're taught, even at a young age. To make the first move is looking like we're "too" available and we want to leave some imagination/wonder up to the guy. It's also more romantic and makes us feel more special because we feel like we're wanted. But I totally see where you're coming from times have changed, but some girls are skeptical that all boys don't feel the same as you. Some are still old fashioned and would prefer to make the first move and we wouldn't want to s***w that up.

  11. What if she was FUGLEE and made the first move, OK for you?!

are you a nerdy, homely ugly dork?!

**** OFF! JAY H, YOU don't know who you messing with!

been there, done that & more! while you were still a s***n entering yo momma 's p***y!

  12. traditionally its the guys job...and alot of us girls are kinda scared to make the first move because we know that NORMALLY the guy makes the first move so we dont wanna seem like sl*ts or desperate by jumping the gun and asking. Plys personally idk how a guy would take it being asked out by a chick....so to stay on the safe side I just wait for them. Plus I like guys w/ confidence so to me if he cant make the first move then he's to shy. N im not saying that like im not shy at time but guys have ALWAYS been the chaser according to tradition and I dont wanna disturb that =)
