Why do girls have to gape their mouths when applying eye makeup?

I saw this on a nature show or something years ago.

When they do that, it lowers the cheek, thus making the eye open more, and more room for the brush and hand to get in the area.

its a natural reaction to when your mouth is expressionless but you raise your eyebrows- which most girls do when they apply eye makeup, so that their eyelid is held taut.

Its either because when opening the mouth the musles a tensed and they eyes open wider (try it out) - thus allwoing for a better application of mascara.

Annother theory is that opening your mouth is a sign of concentration.

they don't HAVE to, they just don't think of what they are doing besides putting on make up and it just sort of happens. i try not to, but i do it anyway. lol
