well as in all boxing (men's or women's) it's called a body shot. if you work your opponents body it will take away their legs as the fight goes on. also, if you're working on your opponents body they will start focusing on guarding their body and forget about their head (can anybody say knockout?). but more fights can be ended with a boxer taking a body shot rather than a head shot.
