Why do girls....?

Ok i play volleyball & 2moro we r going 2 camp and i wanted to know why we have to wear spandex under our shorts i just got my spandex shorts 4 the first time ever and i just wanted to know why we have to wear them~~~~I really like them they are so comfortable!

u have to wear them so you can move easier! think about it...pe shorts and basketball shorts are a lot harder to move in and spandex provides a flexible stretch.

well i wear them under my shorts so that like when my legs swaet it picks the sweat off my legs and my legs don't run against the fabric. and when like you just wear them alon like by themselves its because it makes it easier for you to move.

they add support! and it gives guys something to look at, and it also helps you move faster

Why?

Because they remain in place, they don't twist or ride up with movement, and they allow for complete range of motion without becoming cumbersome or bunched up in certain places.  And they are more comfortable.

There is nothing more annoying than to have to dive for the ball, and then get up and wonder if anyone got to see what color undies you are wearing - or what style.  In spandex, you don't have that worry.  They will remain in place, and they will not shift or move.  And sometimes you can find them with the added padding on the hips and butt area to allow for some diving without all of the bruising :)

They also prevent chaffing, which allows for more comfort - especially in the heat. . .

ok so you wear them becuz when u dive and stuff its so that ur shorts dont ride up and people cant see ur butt. also ppl just wear them alone bcuz they r comfy and they dont give u wedgies

my camp trainer told us its so that they don't see your underwear and also they aren't as baggy and allow you to move more freely.

Honestly normally everyone just wears the spandex no shorts over them. the spandex allows us to move easier than in shorts that you have to worry about moving or slipping down. I would bring normal shorts with you just for comfort sake but i have always just worn the normal spandex.   Oh i think they are super comfortable particularly the under armor spandex

If the shorts are more "flowy" and loose fitting you may have to wear spandex under them so your butt doesn't hang out of your shorts. If you mean just spandex, you wear them because they ARE comfy like you said (if you get good ones) and because you move quick in them and when you dive they don't get all bunched up and to be honest, you wear them because everyone else does so you fit in and look like a team.

Honestly, no talented or experienced volleyball player wears shorts over the spandex. You wear the spandex just plain by themselves. You need them becuase (depending on the intensity that you will play), you will be diving for balls A LOT! Shorts will catch onto a hard gym floor, but spandex make it easier to slide. At your camp please wear spandex without the shorts, even with that simple change, people will take you much more seriously and think you are a better player than you might be. Check out University of Washington or any other really good college team and see what their outfits look like. You should aim to pretty much copy what they wear.

It seems odd that you would have to wear them under your shorts. My team (the girls I coach) just wear the spandex, or spankies as shorts. Different leagues have different rules. In my province the rule is that all players must wear the same shorts and the majority of the girls feel more comfortable in just the spankies. However, since you're wearing them under your other shorts, I'm guessing that they do that so that it's impossible for your shorts to ride up on you and expose parts you don't want exposed lol. Another rule where i live is that they spandex under your shorts can't be any lower than the shorts themselves. Might be different where you are though.

i just wear the spandex by themselves. but at school practice i cant wear them alone, so i wear them under shorts , so if i dive , no one can see my butt
