Why do girls want to be princesses?

why do most girls always want to be princesses?isn't it better to lead a normal life and just be yourself?you know,it isn't that fun and glamour to be a princess all the time.sometimes,there are certain people who would rather be an ordinary commoner than a princess.as to those out there who are targeting any princes,as long as your motive isn't to be a princess,you'll succeed.

I think girls all dream of being princess because it seem glamorous to them. They're parents read "HAPPILY EVER AFTERS" about a princess and a prince. "TRUE LOVE"

Mostly the princess idea is pushed onto girls by all those fairytale stories, movies etc; so is it surprising that girls want to immitate this? Also, they are just girls and have no real concept of what the whole princess thing actually entails.

Ask a few grown women if they still want to be a princess, I'll say no for me.

I believe, the supposed fairytale of it all and the portrayal of a  glamorous lifestyle plays a part. Everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame and the opportunity to wear designer clothes and live in the lap of luxury.

I don't know, I never wanted to be one.  When I was a little girl I wanted to be Robin Hood, I went everywhere with bows and arrows and swords.  And I have never entirely got over it, I would still like to be a hero, which I think is much more fun than being aprincess.  Princesses mostly lead very dull lives.

Girls want to be princesses because they think it's a better life than they have right now.

In a way, they do have benefits as princesses; they have authority and power, they are their own boss, they get almost everything served on a silver platter.

However of course there's a downside to being a prissy princess- you get spoiled, the responsibility of monarchy and the country falls upon YOUR shoulders, and you lose your privacy to the press and public.
