Why do graphic designers favor macs over windows?

I've used the macs at our college and its slower than windows vista. I don't get why graphic designers favor macs. Yes they are gorgeous but slower. Windows Vista runs many of the same programs too like photoshop, illustrator, etc.

I think the reason why graphic designers favor macs over windows is because the mac looks better. In functionality, everything has been the same pretty much, though windows is somewhat more faster than a mac.

haha that's so true. I'm a graphic designer and i love MAC. Mac has some amazing designs and of course us designers love the sleek apple designs. And of course because of all the praise Mac's get.

Agreed, all macs can do is media, that doesnt make them better, just more limited.

The only things they can run is photoshop and itunes, which windows can do anyway, aswell as more.
