  1. Apparently you don't know greek music. There are many times of greek music: the one of mainland Greece(including Epirotan, Pelopponesean, Rumeliotic, Macedonian, Thessalian), the Thracian one, the Pontic greek one, the Cretan one, the Eptanesian, the one of the Islands, the Cypriot one, the Byzantine one and the Minor Asian etc. Only the Minor Asian music resembles to Arabian music. Modern greek laiki (popular) music is influenced by the Minor Asian one. According to a theory Minor Asian music is influenced by the Byzantine church music, which was influenced by ancient greek music. You see all the Middle East was once dominated by Greek kings. That's probably you think that "greek music sounds like arabian".

  2. Centuries of Moslem enslavement of the Greek people.

  3. They are close to each other, so their cultures mix. Therefore you would probably have some Greek music sounding like Arabian music, and Arabian music sounding like Greek music.

  4. Because it's near a lot of Arab nations like turkey.

  5. HUH?

  6. The same reason Spanish and Portugeuse sound alike! =)
