Why do gunie pigs die so fast?

my cousins had 2 and each 1 died in the first 3 week

He should be glad they are right pain in the butts, no offense but i got 2 and to think they could last 4-5 years makes me want to scream and live with my gecko's...

they probably came from a bad breeder. or they could have had an unoticed infection. and if a small animal gets an infection, they can die from it pretty fast
