Why do guys get mad when watching football ?

when my dad or any guy that i know watches football, why do they get mad and start yelling at the tv and throwing popcorn at the tv.

It's an emotionally charged experience for most guys, It's sorta comparable to how sappy love movies make girls cry, football games just make guys mad if their team is losing. You're probably just not ever going to get it unless you spend some time watching it w/ your dad or other guys.

its not just a guy thing my oldest sister gets angry and wont talk to anybody the rest of the day if her team loses.... i get mad when my team looses but not as angry as her.... i say its die hard fans that get the most upset/angry...

Most of the time she spends screaming at the t.v.

HAAAA WELL ITS NOT JUST GUYS OR MAYBE IM JUST WEIRD BUT I GET ANGRY AND START SCREAMING AT THE TV WHEN MY TEAM IS LOSING AS WELL. AND ALL MY FRIENDS KNOW NOT TO CALL ME DURING THE GAME BECAUSE THEY WILL GET CUSSED OUT!! I GUESS IM A GUY TRAPPED IN A GIRLS BODY!!! ITS JUST THE LOVE AND PASSION PEOPLE HAVE FOR THE GAME!

Football is about joining a group, feeling an emotional commitment to that group. Many people's lives have very little drama, very few chances at glory and dramatic failures.

Football has that, like most sports. Soooo............my life has enough drama and excitment that I have little need to care about sport. Though I do like it when my country or team wins.
