Why do guys get so melodramatic when I tell them I'm a virgin?

I'm really casual when it comes to getting to know guys. I typically won't tell a guy I'm a virgin unless I've gotten to know him really well. But the second I tell them I am, they act like I've just told them I'm nine months pregnant and my water just broke.

They get into a panic but not like a "I can't talk to you anymore" kinda panic. They act like they've been put on the spot to do an extraordinary magic trick and have to make everything perfect. And they get even weirder when I tell them I don't want a relationship.

Should I refrain from telling guys I'm a virgin from now on? They act like their ***** shrink when I tell them.

They get melodramatic because they are not real men, nor gentlemen for that manner. Most guys.....in your age group haven't a clue what it is to be a man. Don't waste your time with knucleheads. A real man will honor your chastity, knowing that you will share yourself with that one special person.......make it a REAL man. Next to life itself, the most precious gift one could give another is themselves.

When you do have s*x for the first time......tell your lover at that time, at that very moment that you are both entwined in passion.

And..............Its none of these guys business if you are a virgin or not.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with being a virgin at your age.  You probably aren't meeting the right guys.  When you find the right guy, you'll know it.

I lost my virginity late, and if you think guys look at you weird, the reaction I got with that double standard of a guy being a virgin was really strong.

I personally like virgins better then non virgins cause I don't really feel like getting AIDS, HIV, Herpes, etc.

Telling them that your a virgin is your first mistake.  If a girl tells me that she's still a virgin the first thing that runs threw my head is what if I'm off my game that night and it completely sucks.  You always remember your fist one.  You are better off not telling them and if you don't want to have s*x w/ them from the start make them put some work in to the relationship.

Probably since your a virgin, after they have s*x with you they would think you get "emotionally attached" to them since your not as experienced as other girls who sleep around and don't care about relationships. Guys don't want a big commitment, they just want some. There fantasy is a booty call, a girl to do it with whenever but no emotional strings attached. Just find a virgin guy or wait for a kind, caring, sensitive guy who respects you and relationships.

At this day n age there aren't many people that are willing to save s*x for marriage. Thats why they act the way they do when you tell them. I think it's amazing that you're a virgin and I think you should hold out as long as you possibly could no matter wat peopl think or say. because when you meet that one special person and have that moment it should mean alot to you. No, you shouldn't voluntarily tell guys that you are a virgin. It's nobodys business. Even if a guy makes a move on you and try to have s*x with you, you dont have to tell him you a virgin. No is just fine.

If you don't want a relationship, then why are you telling them that you're a virgin?  As far as I'm concerned, that's no one's business except yours, your doctor's, and whoever you eventually decide to sleep with.

Why do you tell them anyway?

Anyways, in answer to your question, if you tell them that, they put 2 and 2 together and come up with the idea that they won't be getting any till you've got a ring on your finger. Whether that answer is 4 or 5, I don't know, and they don't either, but they don't want to take the risk.
