As an actual musician I hear their music and know that even less theory and skill goes into it than a s*x Pistols song or a Ramones song.  To girls they are nothing but pretty faces to fawn over on posters and the webernet.  If they actually had musical talent and could write songs and music that had more content I might give them a little credit, but alas, they are worthless wisps in a shroud of smog that is the music industry today.

Lack of talent...

The Jonas Brothers is your generations version of Hansen(*shudders), they'll remain big now...but down the road, people will be saying "Jonas who?!?"

Because they are all hype and no talent. It's disheartening for boys to see the girls they like swoon for it. The music industry has done this since it's inception.  Here's the formula: (cute white boys + sappy bubblegum pop music)(media exposure) = millions of ravenous young suburban female fans (which in turn = huge bucks) Music execs loves these groups because they work cheaper because they don't have much talent (the real skill is in the packaging). They also target a fan base with disposable income.  Need proof see Fabian, Lief Garret, Shawn Cassidy, Davey Jones, David Cassidy, New Kids on the Block, Hansen. Backstreet Boys etc, etc, etc

Though I think their music is terrible and irritating, there is a positive side. They weed out all of the girls with awful taste so I don't have to figure it out on my own.
