Why do guys love blonds?

Why is it that a lot of guys go for blond hair? I mean its pretty but brunettes and redheads don't get as much attention usually.

i think guys love brunettes also. i am a natural blonde and a bunch of guys like me but my friend is a brunetter and a bunch of guys like her. i think guys think blondes r dumb and "s**y" idk i guess thy just feel tht way its weird and really stupid how some guys think. i had very blonde hair when i was little now i am 13 and my hair is getting darker (i am like a dirty blonde) so i was thinking of going 2 brown but my blue eyes might look weird so idk

Men all have different preferences.

I have red hair and plenty of men love it. I've also known men who didn't like blonde hair on women, especially the natural variety.

My boyfriend dated tons of women before me, and they were all brunettes or redheads, not a single blonde at all...

I find you get as much attention as a redhead as if you were blonde, simply because it is different. And I think most men prefer brunettes, because most women are brunette.

Evolutionary psychologists propose that blond hair is a feature of young (reproductively fit) women, so men are predisposed to be attracted to them.  In northern countries, in the absence of hair dye, women's hair darkens as they age.

I'm pretty sure that this is a misconception.  If you did a survey asking men what their ideal woman looked like, I highly doubt that blond hair would have a substantial lead over other hair colors.  In fact, there's a good chance that a preference for brunette woman would take the lead.

Even better would be a study documenting the preferences of men in their daily life.  He were might find no preference concerning hair color.

Why, then, do we always think that guys love blonds?  I am pretty sure that this is simply a meme that has gotten a bit out of hand.  It is popular to talk about guys liking blonds more, and phrases like 'blonds have more fun' remain popular.  The phrases are probably what are popular, while the phenomena that the phrases assert is probably nonexistent.

I read something in an article about it being in genetics, but it really depends on the guy. Maybe the guys that like blondes like them because people think they are easy.

Well I'm a blonde, and let me tell you, not all men go for blondes.  I don't think it matters what hair color you are, it matters what is inside.  If you're confident, I think that sticks out more than your hair color!  :)
