Why do guys wear underwear under their bathing suit?

Just wondering why they do that. I think that usually guys from 8-20 years old wear it..?

Not all guys do, but some do it to hide the shape of their p***s when they get out.  The water causes our suits to cling very tightly to us and some guys are embarrassed by this.

Underwear and under garments are common in the U.S.   They stem back from a time of the Victorian Era where the human body was once covered up in shame and not to be shown in public.  Much of this has carried on to the more recent modern day.

There is a huge billion dollar business in underwear here in the U.S.   More so than say tropical countries where its never worn.  One of the biggest mistakes American make in tropical countries is the continued use of underwear.  Once wet it holds moist dark conditions that promote bacterial growth.  Many adults no longer wear it, but in youth kids are brought up wearing it.  Some into adulthood.

In America there are other factors involved.  Americans suffer from a huge genital mutilation campaign that had its roots in an age old effort to prevent masturbation in young boys.  Its is a very effective deterrent in this regard, as children often do not gain knowledge of how to release their tensions until their mid to late teens.  Foreskins protect their glans and thus for some,  underwear is regarded as a child’s garment.   In adult hood this garment could be done away with.  However, due to the high number of cut males, the garment feels better than say the insides of a pair of jeans or in this case a rough swim suit material.

Later as the child grows to an adult the skin on the head becomes increasingly less sensitive.  To a point where it might indeed be practical to do away with the garment completely.   Underwear also traps body heat and keeps the area too warm for males to produce sperm in many instances.  There is a big movement for many males to seek out  boxers made of silk.  Silk is a very strong material yet its actually very soft.

Being intact myself… I gave up underwear completely by high school age.  Its also a greener solution since you have far less laundry, and mostly for no reason at all.  I mean really…  When was the last time you went in your pants ????   And I do not mean your period.  Women on the other had have a valid excuse, but if you are male it’s a useless item unless you are very young or have endured genital mutilation common for these parts.

In short underwear is big business in the U.S.   Fruit of the Loom and Hanes making up the biggest players.  Selling the garment to millions and cause a huge endless amount of wasted laundry for a garment which severs little use in adulthood.   Still customs and human social aspects accompanied by simple habit makes underwear very popular.  Socks can also take on a similar trait and has in some cases been responsible for athletes foot due to their ability to trap moisture for prolonged periods of time.

lmao! dya know what, i've never dun this, but my mate did when we went to play tennis.. i have no idea why.

and i said like don't your trunks have a net in, and he was like yea. so i asked why he was wearing boxers as well.

he didn't really have an answer lol. so the answer to your question, is that us guys can just be weird like that, there's no real special reason for it. just comfort or whatever. maybe some just feel weird without their boxers, and do it like an OCD thing. personally i would just wear my trunks without boxers even if it was just for town or wherever.

In general, under a regular swimsuit, a guy does not wear underwear. A lot of guys are wearing board shorts and a lot of those have no inner lining, so the natural tendency is to wear undies. Also, some guys sag their board shorts so they need boxers on for covering up their business.

I have never heard of a guy wearing underwear when wearing a bathing suit.  So, I don't know, unless they were wearing cut-off shorts which was cool in the 70's when I was a kid.

I have never heard of guys doing this, but I guess some would.  Are you sure that you're not seeing the inner netting of their suits?  They are usually mesh and white.  Anyways, I guess some guys could be embarrassed, feeling that their privates are too free swinging.  Underwear could keep them under wraps, and as guys get older, they get less worried about that kind of stuff.

They don't. Not at least myself, nor any of the guys I grew up with did. The suits usually have an inner liner, so it's not needed. Besides, who would want soggy underwear?

They are concerned that their dinky-donks will fall out. The greatest concern is that the testicles will come tumbling out of the cloth and they will end up looking rude and foolish. Dangling balls are not a good way to impress the girls.

Well some bathing suits have a net in them and some do not. The bathing suits with the net do not require one to wear anything underneath them, where as the ones without a net generally due. For myself personally it just increases the comfort level slightly.
