it actually isn't funny,

like nastia luikin runs normally and same with the chinese girls, they obviously they have to run faster than normal, but shawn johnson runs a little different, because she has much larger (muscular) legs than the other girls

Speed is not always the concern when they run; timing, space, and other factors come into play.

Personally, I don't think that they run all that funny.  It's the prim-and-proper walk that I see from the female gymnasts that gives me a chuckle.

Its speed, but they also need to count out their steps and timing. I dont think any of us would look normal preparing to do what they do
