Question:

Why do haploid cells undergo a second division?

I'm in the process of wrapping up the lab report for gamete reproduction, and this question is keeping me from turning it in. Please help me out. Thank you.

  1. Because the gametes will eventually combine together to form an embryo.  That is why they need half the chromosomes of a haploid.


  2. To become diploid  cells (gametes)??????
