Why do haunted house reality shows always occur at night? Do ghosts sleep during the day?

Wouldn't haunted activity happen during the day, as well as night? Ghosts don't go by the living clock do they?

ok - here's the answer that I've come across that makes the most sense to ME  - hope it helps you.

If ghosts "manifest" or show themselves by a massive build up of energy (wherever they get it - from batteries, the living, etc.), wouldn't it make sense that that energy can be seen easier in the dark?  It's like a flashlight.  It's a LOT easier to see even a faint light from a flashlight in the dark than in the daylight.  Therefore, a ghost would have to expend LESS energy to show itself in the dark than it would in the light.

it happens day and night why in my moms friend's  house i went to take care of it since she was out of state for the weekend. I was washing dishes in the kitchen and I had this weird feeling in my gut. I felt as if I was being "watched". I ignored it and went back to my dish washing. Then i smelled smoke like if someone was smoking. I thought nothing of it and checked the oven to see if i accidently left it on and checked outside to see if someone was smoking. NOTHING. I resumed doing what i was doing and then i felt something touch my shoulder. I felt soo scared. Then i heard the doors open and slam shut. all the windows were closed and locked. The rooms i would stay at would get really cold and get chilling sensations haha :]] when my moms friend came home she saw my face and laughed. I was horrified sleeping over at her house worst night of my life. She simply hugged me and paid me my 4 benjamins haha she later told me that her father died in that house and would smoke in the house and would often slam doors when he was pisst off. Hence the reason all the activity that was going on. haha something i will NEVER forget.

Hauntings occur at all hours of the day & night, TV shows film them at night as it makes for a more scary & dramatic viewing experience for the viewer and gets the ratings up for the TV show.

As far as the reality show goes...they are fake. Ghosts don't sleep, in the sense we sleep. Haunted activity does happen in the day.

Well people's senses I think are heightened because many are sleeping and you hear more, but as for reality shows I think they do it at night because that is when people are the most fearful, when they can't see.
