Why do high school gym teachers like to humiliate students who don't do well in sports?

I heard them talking about that on the radio this morning, and it took me straight back to those horrific middle school and high school days. Why do gym teachers insist on degrading and humiliating those non-athletic kids?

Because they have a terrible job, and yelling at the unathletic kids gives them a sense of power.

I just run my butt of during gym, and I'm fine. :)

The people that don't even try have to run the mile over again.

because there priks, and they probly didnt have a good childhod, well my gym teacher picks on acouple of freinds, well he likes me hes ask me everday last school year to play football, and well i dont like him or any other of the football coaches except for one, all the other ones are priks, well they already have there picks(the ones who are goin to be playing wether they were good or not, causs i knew i was better than over half of the ppl on our football team, there's a guy on or team thats like a buldozer no joke, i swear it took like atleast 6 or 7 ppl just to get him down to his nees, ohh and hes one of the fastest ppl on our team, and we didnt even get to play mabye like the last min in the game if we were winning by alot which didnt happen much, or lossing really really bad, i dont think its because the not athletic, i think its becase of the popularity...
