Why do highly educated individuals get angry when challenged in a public forum?

  1. They are usually only educated in a few subjects.  If they are getting upset regarding a subject which they know well, then its likely due to a feeling of frustration, because they can not make the challenger see things from their knowledgeable perspective.


  2. Because they are only human beings and they know that they don't know everything. They will feel stupid if somebody out does them in knowledge. They're reputation is on the line and they don't want to feel stupid. Those people go home and watch pornography just like the next man or woman does. They're not perfect  

  3. Because they think they are so smart that everyone should just listen to them.  They were sure others thought they were the guru and can't believe that anyone would even challenge them. They then become highly offended and angry.

  4. Neither... They just have this uncomfortable feeling in the gut.. It doesn't make any sense but some people are just not people people.. It's not that they lack social skills or life experience but that they just have that feeling of not fitting in like a little first grader in the younger grades...

  5. may be they just want to keep up there image high....
