Why do hispanic gangters wear clothing and accessories that symbolizes christianity?

Everytime I see a hispanic or mexican gangster, I always see them wearing clothes with the Mother Mary, Jesus, ect. I understand that it's their culture, but I still don't understand 100% what it means. And another thing, in the bible it says to not get tattoos to not have piercings, ect., but they do it anyways, and if they're trying to represent Jesus and all, why do they want to disobey a lot of things he says? For example, I believe a christian should wait before marriage to have s*x, but those guys in my school are already having s*x and doing all sorts of bad things. Honestly I find it disappointing because there they are wearing stuff that's "supposed" to make them christian, yet they don't follow the rules one bit. Can anyone explain? Thanks and I'm sorry if anyone took this in offense.

  1. I think that its something about that phrase that no matter what, if you believe, you will be forgiven for your crimes.  It's the ultimate in hypocrisy.  Just like the rappers who always thank god for their success yet preach violence against everyone.

  2. so when u get mugged and beaten up they can say they r the knights of christianity

    kind of like the KKK

  3. These people were raised to learn the illusion of goodness that the Christian images project. The US is a secular unconstitutional capitalist christocracy!  Nevertheless, these gangs realize this and try to get people to think of their "projected goodness"!

Remember, you are always forgiven if you are a Christian.  All you gotta do is say you are Christian, that Jesus was perfect and God and budabing....you are in!

Maybe this is another reason why Americans should shun Christianity as being some sort of ideal religion?

Life does not always seem FAIR!

Hi!  I am a Forgive Affirmed Spirit and this is what I profess and try to act like.

Forgive Affirmed Spirit is the belief in a way of life that is a method of grief resolution and functional communication processing involving active listenning, sympathy, empathy and affirmation of shock, denial, anger, guilt, depression, loneliness and hope...a kind of ego-equilibrium seeking methodology.

A Greater Works of communication and action, a way to learn to love your enemies "Advocating mortal life, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you AS IF YOU WERE THEM!"

And nobody is perfect!  NOBODY!  We are all judgeable, hopefully in a graceful discerning way!   We are all doing our best every moment!

Humans judge everything  as we are a part of it.  Without difference, we have nothing to live for, nothing to witness.  Sin is difference, the relative seriousness with regards to law and survival of other beings, is punishable by the courts. The best way to judge is with as much graceful discernment as one can muster in a given moment!

Life is the question(uncertainty) asked by the exhaling infinitely compacted imagination invention, or no thing, which is completely certain of everything, completely omniscient or all knowing.

When I die, I believe I will be in a new state, aware of all that is and yet divided into the nature of dust that I am in, whereupon my dust shall fall.  My being will remain an infinite part of an infinite being and infinite knowledge without my material human being status of now. So there will be a change.

But my soul, my passions and discompassions, will move on to infinite places of comfort and challenge.  Able to return to this state of uncertainty and free choice illusion for another ride when it is called effectively to do so.

So that the children of God, the creations of God, .. are actually part in parcel of that God or Creation Energy!

This  life is a roller coaster ride. Enjoy your passion within it and whatever gathering of two or more in Forgive Affirmed Spirit to make it better can garner.

Healing be unto you and yours and me and mine in

    Forgive Affirmed Spirit

  4. a missionary from Mexico visited my Christian church and said many Mexicans say they are Catholic, but they do not attend church at all, and they twist Catholicism into a wrong way of thinking about God. They wear the jewelry as good luck charms.

  5. It's just part of the culture. I lived in a Mexican neighborhood here in Missouri for a couple years. It always puzzled me how so many of the guys from that neighborhood could guzzle down brews and don giant pot leaf belt buckles while wear stocking caps and t-shirts depicting the Lady of Guadalupe, but that's just part of the culture. It doesn't really have anything to do with being in a gang OR being Christian. I think it's just a way of showing others one's pride for his mother country/ mother culture (the Lady of Guadalupe is a particularly popular and well known symbol in Mexican culture).

  6. How about white gangsters who hide behind the American flag when they're beating up people who try to find refuge in the USA, coming from south of the border?  That's a hate crime, and it's un-American.

Don't think that ethnicity and/or nationality makes anyone more or less likely to join a gang.

  7. When they go for murdering or gun shooting with rival gangs, they need God's help to protect them from getting hurted.  To them, God is the spirit who can protect them even if they are doing bad things to human.

  8. Because in large percentage, Mexicans and Hispanics are VERY Catholic, and part of their culture is to wear very large gold and silver jewelry depicting such images.

It's not really about being a gangster...it's the Spanish background.  The one thing has nothing to do with the other.

  9. I don't know why hispanics dress the way they do. But as far as the tattoos and piercings are concerned that is in the Old Testament. We are no longer under that Law. If you follow one rule from the old Law then you are required to follow all the rules of the old Law. We are now under the Grace of God not the old Law.
