Why do historians reconstruct ( digitally ) ancient tombs?

What are the main purposes of doing this besides " knowing what it looked like " ...

  1. I think that most people are quite visual, and much prefer to see how any object or architecture would look rather than just reading a description.

    Also, historians often have different areas of expertise. Someone who is good at architecture is capable of reconstructing the tombs, so that other historians, who are perhaps not so good at visualization, can now examine the 'tomb' at their leisure.

    Lastly, reconstructions can assist in identification and categorization of buildings and artifacts.
