  1. To answer this question...think of a group of teenagers, or perhaps a wolf pack. In the pack, there is an order...alpha, betas...and then the pariah - or outcast.

    It occurs in all situations, there is the one animal/person who gets picked on, and the others will go along with the group, rather than risk turning into the one who is being picked on.
