Why do humans enjoy music?

This might have something to do with the fact that most of the universe is made up of vibratory patterns. music is such a source, a power that calms people down; music can talk, if you've heard of the saying. but it's not really a saying, it's true; music talks. it can get your emotions activated; you can feel mad, sad, happy, a thrill, anything. different melodios even say something; like a story. you can think about something, and make music out of it with patterns, if you know what i mean. sorry if i'm confusing you! for instance, if you think of "water", you can think of the waves, the flow, and create a music!!!!! try it!

It has no evolutionary purpose, and isn't addressed by evolutionary theory.  Music and art in general seems to be a byproduct of the general increase in intellect among humans.
