Why do humans have such an immense need to believe in ghosts / god etc?

yet they refuse to accept evolution , a scientifically proven theory . What is wrong with humans , are we really that stupid ? WIll it take another 2000 years for us to move on from that fairy c**p

I believe that humans have always grasped at understanding the world around them.

So when the unexplained occurs, primitive man attributed it to the Supernatural.

Because the immensity and complexity of Creation (read Universe) scares us, I think.

The more you learn about it, the more you make sense of it and the more you feel comfortable in it and the less you feel the need to attribute super powers to super beings.

bcuz of curiosity?the fact that we believe in such things is bcuz we cant prove their existence, and hence was given the benefit of doubt..same goes for the Bermuda Triangle..why we believe that itz bcuz of paranormal reasons that the ships n planes went missing?Human tends to believe in things that they cant understand or explain..and science cant explain everything so we have to believe that something in dis world exist in other ways..therefor, we attribute these happenings to god or ghost..

People need something to believe. Most can't go through life not knowing how the solar system was created, people, ect.
